Sign Of The Times - Foreclosure

A rocky economy has definitely claimed its share of victims. The housing market was one of the first markets to see the spiraling down turn. First with the slowing of home sales then the eventual lost of homes leading to foreclosures all across the nation. Though hard times have fallen on millions of families fortunately it hasn’t affected everyone. If you are one of the fortunate few that it hasn’t affected and you are in the market for a home or looking to invest then you need to buy foreclosures!

Why buy foreclosures in this economy you ask? Well my take on it is this, in a good or bad economy purchasing a foreclosure normally allows you to save thousands of dollars on the asking price. Why? Well because the borrower has already paid down the mortgage, and the bank is usually willing to accept the remaining balance or less. The bank is not in the market of selling homes so they often let homes go for little or nothing just to get them off their books.

Then you may ask “well if buying foreclosures has always been a good deal then what makes it so much better to buy now?” I thought you’d never ask. It’s because of supply and demand silly. Have you watched the news lately, banks are shutting down because they have so much bad debt on there books (foreclosed homes). We are in a very interesting crossroad because there are currently an unlimited supply of homes for sale which makes it even harder for the banks to sell at their already low prices. Remember they are not in the market to sell homes so they are sometimes giving these homes away for little or nothing just to get them off there books, and because they know they are competing with regular home sellers, and builders they are willing to provide bigger discounts to get rid of them.

So if you are in the market for a home or an investment property don’t miss the opportunity to buy foreclosures at a time when you can get the best deal and there is currently no better time for a deal then the present.  For a list of foreclosures in your area check out Foreclosure.com – Updated daily, Trustworthy, FREE!
